The Circles Curriculum is a nationally-recognized life skills curriculum that uses a video-modeling teaching method and proven effective with individuals with I/DD. Participants learn to recognize social boundaries, avoid exploitation and learn how to TOUCH, TALK TO, TRUST people in their circles.

About the Event

The relationship and boundaries lessons will:

  • Review different types of relationships in our lives
  • Use visual cues and videos to demonstrate appropriate boundaries
  • Explain relationships between people and the way they touch, talk to, and trust each other
  • Demonstrate how we develop relationships over time, by engaging in socially appropriate interactions
  • Address how the same relationship boundaries should be applied to interactions on the internet

The guide to dating lessons will include:

  • Having a crush
  • Starting a relationship
  • Dating basics
  • Physical and emotional boundaries 
  • Evaluating a relationship
  • Dealing with a break-up
  • Risks of internet dating
